MANIFEST - picture organizer (freeware)

Installer  manifest3install.exe  3.1mb
Using Manifest:

There is no limit to the number of pictures you can add (except by space on your hard drive).

There is no limit to the number of separate catalog files you can create (except by space on your hard drive).

The fact that you can store your pictures in different files, and easily move the records between them leads to common sense ideas on how to store everything...  for example,  keeping everything in one file will eventually become cumbersome when you want to find a record, and filtering out the one you want in your adverts can mean a lot of searching and scrolling.  A better idea would be to create files to serve as "archives" separate from your main working file.  Every time an item is sold or disposed of, simply move the record to an archive.  This keeps your working file to just the current stock items.  Of course you are not bound to work this way - you can create any files you want for any purpose representing different categories, locations or whatever you need.

Important points:

1.  Manifest is designed for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and above.  While it might work on Windows 98 or ME, those platforms are less stable and so we do not support installation on such platforms.  The minimum screen size required is 800x600 - anything higher is fine also.

2.  When pictures are added to Manifest, the original picture is not deleted from your drive.  Due to pc crashes and problems, power cuts etc, it is always possible to damage data files (although rare).  This leads to the importance of backing-up your Manifest files.  There is no built-in back-up function because this can limit how and where you want to store the data.  Also, the best current method of backing-up is to save the data on CDR or DVDR which needs to be done manually.

The location of your data files is:
C:\Cruiser3\Manifest\Mdata

To back-up, simply copy the files to the desired back-up location.  Do not move  files unless you don't want them available for general use.  If you do move a file and want to get access to it again, simply copy it back to the location above (the program cannot open files outside of this directory).  (continued)
