REACH-A-MAIL new portable Email Client

ImageReach-a-Mail have released a new update which makes this portable email client even easier to use.  If you haven't heard of it yet, its well worth having a look at.

Reach-a-Mail is an email client designed specifically to make it portable such as on a USB stick.  It can also be used just as easily on a desktop pc.

One thing that makes it stand out from other email clients is that it is not a "desktop client" adapted or tweaked to run from usb, but designed for portability from scratch.  This means it handles everything from a viewpoint of someone "away from home".

  • Emails are not automatically downloaded - it downloads the headers, then allows you to select which emails you want to fully download.  This makes sense as you usually only want to view urgent emails while out-and-about.
  • Emails are not compressed or stored all in a single database file - they are each stored separately in their original EML format.  This makes them easy to import into your main email client back at base.
  •  Reach-a-Mail looks very modern and fancy, yet is much faster and smoother than many bigger programs.  It is also quite small in size.

Fair exchange:   Reach-a-Mail does add a plug for its other software to each email, but its only a small piece of unoffensive text acceptable to anyone.  Not a bad exchange for a free program.  And remember, if you really don't want to send an advert you can easily just chop it out.

A new update (August 2007) has been released which has removed a few unnecessary dialogs plus added more security.
